Apparently, the furnace needs to be primed and oil injected into the combustion chamber, which is what pressing the button does. Press it numerous times, the chamber can become overloaded with fuel oil and once it ignites, well, BOOM! I had a feeling something like that would happen and it made the Star Trek connection seem closer to the truth, since the Genesis planet was on the verge of blowing "sky high" while the crew was deciding which switch to throw on the control panel. :-)Bill Conwayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16101525260347714309noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2703847687174045960.post-17518279834519253032011-12-24T11:04:56.622-05:002011-12-24T11:04:56.622-05:00The 'only press once' instruction must hav...The 'only press once' instruction must have been put there by someone who has seen folks waiting at an elevator, or a cross walk, compulsively beating on the button as if that would make the desired action happen quicker! But by then, I was getting pretty desperate, so anything that looked like "help" was welcome. I think you're right, though, taking notice and "reading the instructions," especially those included with each person, is a critical skill and too many of us simply assume that what works for one will work for another, and that ain't exactly right! :-)Bill Conwayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16101525260347714309noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2703847687174045960.post-78658807536204911372011-12-21T01:22:50.472-05:002011-12-21T01:22:50.472-05:00Lol, not many men read instructions...or take noti...Lol, not many men read instructions...or take notice of them..you will make a great doctor.Sr Crystal Mary Lindseyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03509227559164880311noreply@blogger.com
